The Bachelor of Arts in Theology with Emphasis in Pastoral Studies Program provides degree seeking students an appropriate level of knowledge and understanding in the field of theology and its practical application to pastoral ministry. Courses will articulate the competency expectations of the National Association of Lay Ministers. Additionally, nontraditional students taking the courses for general education requirement (GER) credit will gain a basic understanding of Catholic theology.
For students who have already met the minimum general education requirements and who have 86 transferable credits (21 in 300-400 level courses), the program can be completed in two years. Those who have not met these requirements may take additional time to complete the degree. The online theology program also assists in providing GER credit for those students who meet the criteria for taking online courses at Brescia.
