
Administrative Certification Program - Director of Pupil Personnel
The University of the Cumberlands' Director of Pupil Personnel (P-12 certification) program of study is designed for individuals who have a master's degree in education and have graduated from an institution of higher learning with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Additional requirements include having successfully completed the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program or having three years full-time teaching experience, two of which are from outside the state of Kentucky. Candidates must have an official transcript on file with the University's Registrar's Office and be accepted by the Graduate Admissions Committee for entry. All courses for completion of certification or Rank I in this program may be taken online.
Course requirements for candidates for certification as Director of Pupil Personnel Level I consist of an eighteen hour program of studies. Level II certification (for certificate renewal) requires an additional nine hours of course work.
The requirements for certification include the following:
- Three years of full-time teaching experience;
- Completion of a master's degree in education;
- Qualify for a Kentucky teaching certificate;
- A completed application including an official college/university transcript(s) documenting a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale and acceptance by the Graduate Admissions Office;
- The curriculum contract must be completed and approved by the Graduate Advisor, Director of Graduate Program and Registrar prior to exiting the program;
- For Kentucky certification the candidate must also complete a TC1 for Rank I status if they have elected to complete the thirty hour program.
