Clear Creek Baptist Bible College - Faith-Based Education Deep in the Kentucky Mountains

The history of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College stretches back over eighty years to a man named Dr. Lloyd Caswell Kelly, former pastor of Pineville First Baptist Church in Pineville, Kentucky. In 1926, seeing the need for an educational institution in the mountainous region of Southeastern Kentucky, Dr. Kelly founded Clear Creek Mountain Springs, Inc.

Following approval from the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky in 1946, the organization officially changed its name to the Clear Creek Mountain Preacher’s Bible School, continuing its mission to educate men and women for ministry in the Christian church.

Throughout the rest of the 20th century, the College experienced a long string of successful presidents. Under the supervision of the school’s second president, Dr. Dennis Merrill Aldridge (1954-1982), Clear Creek added a baccalaureate program to its curriculum and changed it name again to Clear Creek Baptist School.

Following Dr. Aldridge’s administration, the College’s third president, Dr. Leon Dennis Simpson (1982-1988), helped the school gain accreditation from the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges in 1986, further changing the school name to the current Clear Creek Baptist Bible College.

During the tenure of the school’s fourth president, Dr. Bill D. Whittaker (1988-2007), the College became free of debt, completed construction on a new classroom building, and raised its endowment by over one million dollars. In addition, Dr. Whittaker also secured further accreditation for the College by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1999.

Following Dr. Whittaker’s retirement in 2007, the Board of Trustees unanimously voted to install Dr. Donnie Fox as the College’s fifth president. Previously the Director of College Relations, Director of Admission, and Dean of Institutional Advancement at the school, Dr. Fox is posed to assist future generations of students at Clear Creek Baptist in acquiring a first-rate, service-centered, Bible-based education.

The College also offers online degrees to accommodate students unable to attend traditional on-campus courses.
