Program Description: Since its inception in 1992, the Master of Arts in Counseling program has taught counselors strong Christian philosophical foundations and excellent skills, allowing them to lead Christian counseling in churches, agencies and counseling centers.

Three aspects of the program illustrate its strengths:

  1. Graduates acquire a knowledge base that enables them to interact with other health professionals in a qualified manner. CCU graduates pass the National Counselors Exam on their first attempt at a rate that is among the highest in the nation.
  2. Graduates attain skill sets that embody the techniques and principles of professional counseling. CCU's training program includes practical and internship oversight that is equal to, or above, national standards as established by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
  3. The personal growth and development of students is a priority at CCU. Interaction with professors is also of great importance.
