Be the leader you were meant to be!
The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management and Leadership (OML) program was the first program offered at Friends University for the working adult. It first began in 1988 and continues to be the most popular of our degree-completion programs today. The program also met the mission of Friends University, which is to provide the opportunity for high-quality learning in a delivery mode that is appropriate for a diverse population of students.
Benefits: The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management and Leadership (OML) is an applied science program. The knowledge that students acquire in one class can be immediately applied to the workplace or other social and professional settings. This can create more rewarding careers, work environments and overall relationship building, which makes for a more effective life experience.
Skills: Specific skills covered include, but are not limited to, emotional intelligence, and an understanding of organizations, business research, and decision-making.
Quality and Convenience: The OML program provides a broader understanding of working with different types of people personalities as well as how to manage and lead individuals with diverse behaviors and backgrounds to become effective and productive. The course work can be completed in approximately 17 months which puts you on the path to completing a degree that can be applied to your profession as you go.
Growth Potential: Because you can apply the knowledge learned in each course lesson immediately, employers may begin to take notice in the difference being shown in the workplace. New ideas are shared, solutions are brought to the table, and a new way of approaching situations in the workplace becomes part of your daily life.
Job Opportunities: The OML program prepares individuals to move faster into supervisory or management roles. This degree does not limit students to any particular industry or position, but can provide opportunities to students who choose to take their college career seriously and apply what they have learned to become a more productive employee.
Program Description: The OML program is the shortest in length, with course work being completed in approximately 17 months, and focuses on people, which are at the core of all relationships, both personal and professional.
