Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration - Entrepreneurship

Midway College's Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration (BA) is dedicated to helping students graduate as competent professionals prepared for the business, government, or nonprofit arenas with a solid working knowledge of the core skills of leadership, management, quantitative analysis and strategy.

The concentration in entrepreneurship within the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration online program assists learners in developing an understanding of how a business enterprise is conceived, launched, managed and sustained. Positioning a business entity for growth and lateral development is an art in itself, and requires knowledge, skills, hard work and talent.

Entrepreneurial activity has been a potent source of innovation and job generation in the Global economy. In the U.S., the majority of new jobs are generated by new entrepreneurial firms.

By successfully completing the entrepreneurship concentration within the BA in Business Administration online program students will be able to identify viable business opportunities and how such opportunities are transformed into new ventures.

Additional emphasis is placed on how successful entrepreneurial ventures compete for financial resources, identify and reach their target markets, and establish business processes, systems and controls to manage small and growth-oriented ventures.

Note: Midway students must complete the BA curriculum before enrolling in the concentration courses, or they must obtain permission from their Business Division academic advisor.

When a student enrolls just for the concentration series of courses with the intention of completing a certificate they must have successfully completed BA 210: Principles of Accounting, BA 325: Business Plan Development and BA 430: Strategic Planning or equivalent before starting in the concentration courses.
