Associate of Arts Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Program Description:
Midway College offers the Associate of Arts degree in Nursing on the main campus. Upon successful completion of the program and upon passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), the graduate can practice nursing as a registered nurse (RN).
The Associate Degree in Nursing Program at Midway College is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing. The curriculum for this nursing major concentrates on two elements - the theory emphasizing all important aspects of nursing, and the clinical laboratory experience supervised and hosted in several health-care organizations in central Kentucky.
Besides preparing excellent registered nurses, the Associate Degree in Nursing Program is the stepping stone for admission into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. Time management is a necessary skill for every student in the BSN program, since there is a specific sequence in which the courses have to be taken: NSG 110, NSG 120, NSG 210, NSG 225 and 230. A minimum grade of "C" must be earned in each course before advancing to the next level.
Testing regulations: Students will be required to take nationally-standardized tests throughout the curriculum and to score satisfactorily. At the end of the program, students will be required to take a comprehensive exam and to achieve a satisfactory score prior to graduation and licensing exam.
Admission in the nursing program is quite selective. Midway College prides itself on starting with best fit student desiring to enter a career in nursing and ending with producing professionals who excel in their field. Midway has preparatory courses and academic advisors available for those students who are not fully qualified to enter the nursing study field.

Associate Degree in Nursing to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN-BSN, 4-5 year sequence)
