Part-time Online MBA Programs Surpass Full-time Programs in Popularity and Enrollments

In the business world, having a degree that will provide one with the proper training and academic credibility to thrive in the workplace is essential.  However, with the increasingly complex schedule of the American citizen, how can one earn a degree and still manage to maintain financial stability?  The answer is: Earn a business degree online!

The most common reason why people decide not to attend business school is the anticipated effect it will have on their finances.  Not only could the tuition from a two-year stint at a first-rate business school cost upwards of $70,000, but also the accumulation of lost salary over those two years could amount to more than $100,000.  Furthermore, in a hiring market where fewer students are finding high-quality jobs in business right out of college, the security of entering into full-time programs is not as high as it once was.

In comparison, the average tuition necessary to earn a business degree online is roughly the same as that of most full-time university programs.  However, students in part-time MBA programs have the luxury of keeping their jobs as they work toward their degrees.  Moreover, in an effort to retain employees who are well trained in current business trends and practices, many employers are now assisting employees with the financial burden of attending business school part time.

During the last decade, the number of full-time enrollments at America's top business school has experienced a steady decline.  Aside from the fear of acquiring debt and losing a routine salary, many international students who would have traveled to the United States in the past for their business education have now begun to enroll in newly-formed business programs abroad.  In addition, many international students are unable to obtain student visas as a result of the stringent regulations set forth by the Patriot Act.

A number of benefits exist for prospective students in part-time MBA programs.  Besides the clear economic stability that part-time programs offer, the biggest advantage for part-time business students is the flexibility of scheduling classes.  By taking classes online, students are able to work towards earning a degree on their own time.

Excellent programs that feature part-time business programs include the Business Administration Program at the University of the Cumberlands, the Management Arts Program at Charleston Southern University, and the MBA Program in Financial Planning at California Lutheran University.  All of these programs are offered online, making it easier than ever for anyone with an Internet connection to earn a degree in business.

While keeping their current jobs, students will also be exposed to an entire new range of business contacts and organizations, which could be helpful for future endeavors.  Therefore, due to the decreased availability of high-paying jobs for those students fresh out of full-time MBA programs, those who opt to earn a degree part time will be able to experience the benefits of an expedited career path while maintaining the financial security of their current occupations.
