The Center for Adult and Professional Studies is dedicated to providing working adults the opportunity to attain their educational goals in a flexible and intellectually stimulating environment. Degree options provide students with the choice of day, evening and weekend classes along with fully web-based and hybrid delivery methods. Based on their needs and in consultation with faculty advisors, students may enroll in classes at our Sandhills Community College location, online, and on the main campus in Laurinburg. The interdisciplinary, interactive approach for which St. Andrews is known allows adult learners to bring all of their skills and life experience to the table. Faculty are eager to incorporate the student's knowledge and experiences into classroom learning activities.
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Center for Adult and Professional Studies @ St. Andrews
Adult students over the age of 23 with a minimum of 24 college credits OR students with 60 or more college credits and/or an Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution are classified as ADULT LEARNERS and are enrolled through the Center for Adult and Professional Studies @ St. Andrews.
Requirements for admittance are:
- Completed Adult Learner Application.
- Official academic transcripts from ALL colleges. (Transfers must be in good standing with last college attended.)
- Grade point average of 2.0 on work attempted.
- Official high school transcript or GED with graduation date.
- Non-refundable application fee of $30.00.

Courses are arranged in the evenings, evening/weekend, online, and combinations of online and in-seat sessions for 8 and 16 week terms.

- Financial Aid - Upon qualification, financial aid is available to full-time and part-time adult students. After receiving your completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), St. Andrews financial aid specialists will work with you to develop a customized financial aid plan.
- Accreditation - St. Andrews is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award baccalaureate degrees. In addition, the college is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
- Fast Degree Completion - Because of the opportunity to pursue courses in multiple delivery formats and in multiple venues, students have the ability to design a fast track completion of their degree. Depending on the number of transferable hours you have already earned, you can complete your degree in as few as 24 months, or as long as you like. When the admissions staff receives your application and transcripts, they will work with you to develop a schedule for completing your degree as quickly and efficiently as possible.
